What is blockchain & how does it work?

What is blockchain? Blockchain is a shared, immutable ledger that facilitates the process of recording transactions and tracking assets in a business network. An asset can be tangible (a house, car, cash, land) or intangible (intellectual property, patents, copyrights, branding).

Who invented blockchain?

Blockchain’s origin is widely credited to cryptography David Chaum, who first proposed a blockchain-like protocol among a decentralized node network in a 1982 dissertation.

What is a blockchain database?

A blockchain has three central attributes. First, a blockchain database must be cryptographically secure. That means in order to access or add data on the database, you need two cryptographic keys: a public key, which is basically the address in the database, and the private key, which is a personal key that must be authenticated by the network.
